Declan's First Christmas 2012

Christmas was only 10 days after Declan was born. So it was a pretty low-key day for us. I realize now that I didn't take many pictures.
We celebrated first with our little family at home and then headed over to Grandpa & Grandma Millsaps' house for breakfast and presents. We then went out to see the O'Leary/Spencer families and spend some time with them. I'm not sure it was the smartest thing to do 10 days post c-section but I made it and it wouldn't have been the same if we didn't get to spend our day with our families. (and I had a lot of willing baby-sitters!)
Santa was here.

First Christmas!

The kitties getting their Christmas treats.

Abby's new bike from Mama & Papa. Santa brought her the helmet.

This is how Declan spent Christmas morning.

This is how he spent the rest of the day. Tough life!

Building a princess castle with Grandma & Grandpa

The first ride on the new bike. She's a natural! (She had to ride that day even though by the time we got home from visiting it was very dark out.)

Declan's First Bath

Poor baby! He started out curious and then realized that a bath was not his favorite thing but all his baths after the first were pretty uneventful. He just chills in his seat and let's me wash him up. (At least one thing has been fairly easy with this boy!)

Snow Day - SoCal Style

We don't get much snow here (and by that I mean we get no snow). That's why I live in SoCal. I don't like being cold. Pat, on the other hand, would be happy to spend more time in a cooler climate!
I do know that snow is fun to play with so when the Spencer family invited us out for a "Snow Day" we had to oblige. Abby had never seen snow and really, really wanted to. We bundled up and drove for a couple hours and spent a couple more playing around in a park full of snow that had been delivered that morning by truck. (Yes...we have our snow brought in by truck...don't judge the silly Californians.)

Catching Up (as usual!)

So it's been 8 months since my last post and we have been having quite the adventurous time since our baby boy was born. I will officially use that as the reason why I haven't had time to post to our blog. So in the next little while I am going to attempt to give an overview of our lives in the last 8 months. Enjoy!

A Moment with Minnie

We were lucky enough to see Minnie Mouse on our trip to Disneyland to see Candlelight. This was my last day at Disneyland before the baby (2 weeks before my due date) and before my annual pass expired (boo!). This is the first time I have been without a pass in 10 years!
Abby was not overly impressed with the Candlelight Ceremony but loved the castle lighting and snow. I teared up watching her little face light up with the castle and then as she danced in the snow. It was an awesome moment that I got to share with my little girl, who is growing up so fast but reminds me to believe in the magic all around us.

Meeting with Santa

Abby was so excited to meet with Santa this year. She wrote him a letter about all the good things she had done throughout the year and the things she would like to receive for Christmas. We agree that she has been a really great little girl!
